JOB SUMMARY:

This Senior level Accountant position is responsible for performing advanced financial accounting functions including, but not limited to assisting management with the coordination of monthly closeout process, performing subsidiary consolidation, accounting functions related to leases, payroll and benefit-related transactions, preparing various journal entries, completing account reconciliations, preparation of financial statements including the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement, communicating financial results and explanations to parent company, completing accounting research, providing accounting direction to those outside of Accounting, maintaining processes documentation, and providing detailed analysis of financial transactions and results to Executive management.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
  • CPA license is required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 -10 years of accounting experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of (GAAP) is required
  • Experience in performing analysis on financial transactions and results is required
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with competing and tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Experience with MS Office (specifically Excel) is required
  • Strong knowledge of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking, proactive problem-solving skills, and excellent follow through
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills within team and Executive management
  • Excellent team interpersonal and communication skills
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly accounting entries and properly maintain supporting documentation in accordance with internal controls
  • Responsible for consolidation of Southern Communication subsidiary
  • Prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, accounts receivables, purchasing and other related financial activities
  • Perform analysis of balance sheet, revenue, expense, and payroll account reconciliations
  • Facilitate monthly Trial Balance reviews with accounting team and management
  • Review financial results and provide analysis to Executive management
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements using GAAP
  • Provide accounting research, information and assistance for special projects and data requests
  • Maintain current documentation of accounting processes
  • Coordinate both internal and external audits
