Senior Accountant II (Technical Accounting) - Hybrid

Job Summary
The Senior Accountant II provides expertise in technical and regulatory research to create templates and implement processes for the Finance team. This person leverages advanced knowledge in accounting systems and exceptional analytical skills in handling complex information and datasets, as well as strategically planning large or complex projects. It requires that one be a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with proven ability to build efficiencies for a multinational enterprise.Â
Primary ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting deliverables, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and footnotes.
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of statutory reports and disclosures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Stay updated on changes in reporting regulations and communicate the impact on financial reporting processes.
- Conduct research and analysis on complex accounting issues and provide guidance on proper accounting treatment and disclosure requirements. Evaluate new accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on financial reporting. Document conclusions and present recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
- Serve as a key liaison between the company and external auditors. Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and facilitate the timely completion of audit fieldwork. Coordinate and assist with the resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support for recurring and complex business transactions to ensure the corporate accounting team understands and properly applies accounting policies.
- Continuously review financial reporting processes and procedures to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and process improvements. Streamline workflows, implement best practices, and enhance controls to mitigate risks and enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, treasury, and tax, to gather necessary data and ensure accurate financial reporting. Work closely with business partners to understand the underlying business transactions and provide insights to enhance financial reporting accuracy and transparency.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and system optimization.
- Assist in implementing new reporting amendments and standards. Add improvements to the company’s policy documentations and procedures to enhance the overall quality of financial reporting efforts.Â
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experienceÂ
- CPA or other relevant certification preferred Â
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and/or systems administration.Â
- Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Avalara, and Workiva and process improvement initiatives.Â
- Experience with financial statement preparation and footnotes disclosures.Â
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.Â
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and technical accounting. Â
- Strong analytical skills and ability to digest complex information and datasets, transforming them into actionable insights.Â
- Ability to apply research and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions.Â
- Familiarity with external audit processes and proven ability to work effectively with auditors.Â
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Â
- Continuous learning mindset to stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.Â
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.Â
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.Â
