As a Senior Accountant, Record to Report, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. You are responsible for accounting requirements for assigned areas to be completed timely and accurately.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Interact proactively with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting is accomplished within prescribed deadlines and in accordance with IFRS / Alcon standards.
• Prepare accurate monthly balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports, and associated account analyses and reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate journal entries in a timely manner.
• Ongoing operational improvements made through the month to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and address business / operational changes.
• Collaborate proactively with key partners, including Finance colleagues, internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and Regional/Global Financial Reporting and Accounting. Communication with these team members is appropriate and timely when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise.
• Ensure all processes align with Alcon standards and policies (i.e. global processes, Alcon Accounting Manual, Alcon Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.).
• Understand all impacts to the general ledger for assigned areas due to other intra- and inter-departmental transactions including manufacturing, inventory and cost accounting, inter-company receivables and payables, cash activity and activity from other functional departments

What You'll Bring To Alcon:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• 2 Years of Relevant Experience
• Masters or Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
• CPA/Chartered Accountant preferred
