Senior Accountant - Reinsurance

We are looking for Senior Accountant to join our team working in office at our Tyler, Texas location. This role involves overseeing high-volume reconciliations, preparing financial statement reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting and financial regulations. Key responsibilities include billing and collections for insurance deductibles and reinsurance recoveries, compiling and analyzing financial data, and producing essential reports such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements across multiple entities. Additionally, this role will handle collateral and dividend calculations for captive clients and support auditors with schedules and query responses.

Your Impact:

• Complex and large volume of reconciliations (bank accounts, insurance program cessions by carrier and program year, security deposits, fixed assets, investments, etc.)
• Journal entries for financial statement reporting for FEIC entities
• Billings and collections for insurance deductibles and reinsurance recoveries
• Financial statement reporting for FEIC by 45 days from each quarter end
• Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting, and financial regulations
• Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data
• Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc. for multiple entities
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Performing reconciliation audits and resolving discrepancies
• Preparing schedules and responding to queries as requested by auditors
• Collateral and Dividend calculations for captive clients

Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA required
• Multiple entity accounting required
• Reinsurance accounting experience required (at least 5 years)
• Great Plains, AMS360, QuickBooks experience preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills including Excel
• Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes
• Occasional travel may be required
