Job Summary:
The Accounting Team is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to support MH financial reporting and analytics functions throughout our growth journey. Key responsibilities include preparation of financial reports, performing account reconciliation, maintaining the general ledger, assisting external audit. This role is a key team lead to ensure quality, consistency, and achievement of financial reporting deadlines and be responsible for the assigned financial areas as the subject matter experts to ensure the financial statements in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Location: Remote, ideally Boston area
Key Duties and Responsibilities
This position will perform general accounting function with AP focus, which includes the following:

Prepare standard journal entries

Maintain clear documentation and journal entries supports

Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
-
Accounting for assigned financial items, not limited to revenue, unbilled revenue, lease accounting, stock option accounting. Familiar with ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718

Review the completeness of revenue claims and analyze any gaps
-
Review of income statements by department, customer, product, and other analysis to support monthly financial month end close process

Ensure the book and records are in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Review staff accountant journal entry

Assist in creating procedures and control flowcharts
-
Assist in processing documentation and implementing a strong internal control environment in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) as the company grows

Development of strong relationships with operations team to follow up and report the results of the business

Assist with external auditor requests

Perform ad hoc projects and analysis

Excellent computer skills – deep experience with Excel and cloud-based payroll platforms and ERPs

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
-
5+ years general accounting experience
-
Previous experience with hospital/healthcare setting and health medical claims preferred

Strong knowledge of accounting practices in accordance with GAAP
-
Meticulous attention to detail
-
Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus
-
Advance Excel and analytical skills
