Senior Accountant - SEC Reporting - Hybrid

Role Summary

This role is an integral part in the Corporate Accounting SEC reporting team and is responsible for consolidated cash flow, intersegment elimination analysis as well as quarterly 10Q/10K reporting. You will lead the cash flow consolidation and analysis processes, working with business accounting areas to understand special and new transactions to determine the cash flow treatment and outline processes to capture the impacts. You will have exposure and present to senior accounting leaders.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and consolidation of monthly cash flow.
• Work closely with businesses accounting teams across the organization to understand new and special transactions (i.e. acquisitions, divestitures, capital market debt transactions etc) and determine the cash flow impacts.
• Prepare cash flow analysis to support liquidity discussion in 10Q/K. Partner with FP&A to identify drivers for actual vs projection variances.
• Responsible for stock accounting including treasury stock purchases, stock dividend and employee shares.
• Support intersegment elimination analysis. Participate in new intercompany transaction discussions.
• Responsible for certain US GAAP financial reporting activities for The Cigna Group, including disclosures supporting SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K. Ensure satisfaction of disclosure requirements listed per GAAP Disclosure Checklist.
• Participate in special projects such as the Finance Cloud Enablement project, debt transactions, etc.
• Support SOX compliance and external audit processes

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred
• Strong analytical, problem solving skills and business acumen
• Ability to quickly learn and adopt
• Attention to details
• Ability to balance high-priority, long-term projects with short-term, immediate deadlines and ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrate initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
