Senior Accountant (Tokyo)

[Job Description]

• Responsible for the full aspects of finance spectrum for Japan company
• Perform payment and collection duties on AR and AP
• Prepare financial reporting package in accordance with local GAAP and US GAAP to the management team based in Asia and USA
• Review of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring adequate follow ups of outstanding items
• Handling of external audits
• Responsible for taxation that includes coordinating with our external tax consultants to ensure accuracy of various tax reports such as VAT, corporate tax and being compliant with tax regulation
• Develop and document business workflow processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Streamlining workflow processes to enhance better productivity
• Analyse operational costs to maximise cost efficiency
• Being a coordinator between local service providers / regulators / Financial Institutions and company employees for various finance related tasks
• Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned

[Job Requirements]

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance strongly preferred
• Minimum 7 years of full set accounting experience, well versed on local taxation rules
• Experience in working for an international company and multicultural environment
• Must have experience with the workings of the statutory and tax requirements
• Proficient in English & Japanese (Written/Spoken)
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel)
• Meticulous and organized
• Proactive and independent
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
