The Opportunity:

LifeScan is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our US Accounting Team. The Senior Accountant will be a crucial member of the Commercial Finance and Accounting team, bringing together accounting knowhow and financial analysis to provide key financial insight and guidance on US performance. These responsibilities will include period-end journal entries, managing complex data, business partnering, and performing budget vs actual analyses, among other tasks. The role will report to the Accounting Manager of US Accounting.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries and report on actual vs plan variances for US SG A expenditures. Manage data and maintain support files from various data sources and cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with US Commercial Operations teams to record period-end accruals for unbilled vendor goods and services.
  • Perform data mining and analytics, draw relevant conclusions and present findings across multiple levels and business functions, including business leadership.
  • Support the US Commercial Operations during the Annual Operating Plan process, Plan updates, as well as monitor and track on-going performance against key financial goals.
  • Support quarter and yearend audit inquiries and provide applicable commentary on fluctuations.


Job Requirements

Requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or finance
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, and/or other financial certifications are preferred
  • A minimum of3 years of accounting or finance experience is required
  • Experience in the Life Sciences industry preferred
  • Willingness to quickly learn new accounting information systems and recommend improvements
  • JDE and Hyperion experience preferred, but not required


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred
