Senior Accounting Manager

OVERVIEW:

Ten Thousand is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented candidate for our newly created Senior Accounting Manager position. Reporting into our Director of Finance, you’ll be responsible for leading month and quarterly close processes and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and developing and implementing internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, controls, and process improvement, and an eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.. With this role, you’ll be joining a fast growing company at an early stage and have the opportunity to make a major impact on the business. 

Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting

• Lead month-end close, preparation of financial statements, accruals, journal entries and reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts

• Ensure the company’s accounting procedures and reported results confirm to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures and other special projects

• Oversee year end independent financial statement audit and other independent valuation and diligence processes

• Work with external accounting firms to manage the company’s tax reporting and state filing requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred

• 5-8+ years of public and private accounting experience

• Prior experience with apparel, retail, e-commerce or other manufacturing and inventory-based business model strongly preferred

• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.

• Strong understanding of controls, processes, and internal audit requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Quickbooks Online and other accounting softwares. Prior experience with Shopify and IMS or ERP systems strongly preferred

• Extreme attention to detail

• Exceptional project management and process design skills

• Humility and eagerness to learn and grow

• This position is based in FiDi in NYC and must be open to being in office 4 days a week minimum
