Elementum is looking for an Accounting Manager with a primary focus on accounting operations and revenue recognition activities. The Accounting Manager will lead the Accounting function and be an integral part of Elementum’s Operations team, providing both analysis and operational insight, as well as preparing monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements.
This position reports directly to the CFO/COO. As the leader of the accounting team, you’ll have the opportunity to set priorities and recommend new projects. You’ll also have the opportunity to grow your career and develop your leadership style in an ambitious, well-capitalized startup.Â
What You Will Be Doing:
- Management of AP, Accruals, and Payroll
- Revenue recognition (ACS 606) - post contracts, manage revenue recognition schedules in SageIntAcct
- Manage Billing, AR and Collections
- Manage the month-end close processes including preparing/approving journal entries and supporting reconciliations
- Perform monthly analytics to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements including reconciling, researching and resolving discrepancies
- Own the documentation of accounting policies and procedures that ensure all financial transactions are executed according to GAAP principles
- Manage annual audit
- Support external tax team with tax filings
Who You Are:
- Technically astute qualified accountant with experience in fast growing private companies
- 5+ years of related experience in accountingÂ
- Familiar with the ins and outs of managing audits to close for private companies
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP for software as a service (SaaS)
- Experience with in-house company financial reporting, disclosure, and board communications support
- Demonstrated experience using core finance systems (e.g. SageIntacct, Ramp, Namely, Carta or similar)
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced, hyper growth environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA certification nice to have
- Prior experience as an auditor is a bonus
