The Accounting Manager will play an integral role within a small, collaborative Finance team. They will employ a player / coach mentality to bring month-end close in-house as well as develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate recording and enable educated decision-making, budget control, and ongoing monitoring. Ultimately, the Accounting Manager will bring Nayya to audit readiness and eventually play a leading role in guiding it through its initial audit. Ideal candidates are those with an ability to manage ambiguity and develop solutions to unique problems in a structured and measurable approach looking for a challenging experience and a desire to learn while supporting the successful growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, streamlining accounting processes to increase productivity and accuracy.
- Implement and maintain financial systems and software, optimizing efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
- In coordination w/ the Strategic Finance Manager, monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making and ensure optimal financial health.
- Manage Ramp travel & expense usage and perform Finance team oversight of the procurement process.
- Collaborate with external auditors (once performing annual audits) and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings.
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting other members of the team as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA designation is preferred.
- 5+ years experience in a private/public sector in a Corporate Accounting role, ideally in the technology or adjacent sector
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with financial reporting and consolidation.
- Proficient in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar). Participated in migration of systems a plus.
- Effective communication skills; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
- Knowledge of B2B SaaS revenue recognition principles and experience with subscription-based revenue models.
- Some experience with FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting is a plus.
The salary range for New York based candidates for this role is $130,000 - $170,000. We use a location factor to adjust this range for candidates that are located outside of geographic region of our New York office. Placement within the salary band is determined based on experience.
