Job description

Job Summary We are an established manufacturing company seeking an experienced Sr. Accounting Manager for a part time (3 days a week, flexible days and times) assignment. Primary responsibilities will be to plan and direct accounting activities, with direct oversight of the monthly financial statements, and assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies and procedures relating to financial management, internal controls, accounting and analysis. Additional duties and responsibilities include: • Guide and mentor the accounting team and its activities • Overall management of the financial accounting for the company, including management of revenue accounting, job order costing, cost accounting, std cost mgt, shop floor labor accounting, and other relevant manufacturing controls, reporting and functions • Preparation of various higher level financial reports and analysis (FP&A) • Oversee general and sub-ledgers, depreciation and operating expenses • Review and approve routine accounting entries and account reconciliation • Handle sales tax filing, payroll (oversight only), income tax returns (outside CPA oversight), bank reconciliation, commissions • Establish and maintain system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems • Direct the implementation and maintenance of new accounting procedures and controls • Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, and determine appropriate corrective procedures • Assume other special activities and responsibilities as required (special reports, FP&A, etc.) • Train users across the organization Job Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field • 8+ years of accounting experience, including supervision of staff • Hands on experience with GL, AR, AP, invoicing, controls and payments/purchases in foreign currency • Strong computer skills, including ERP systems and advanced Excel • Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of job order costing, cost accounting, BOMs, MRP/materials planning, shop floor labor, sales orders, and other relevant manufacturing reporting and functions • Ability to demonstrate strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills • Ability to mentor, train, and to be a resource to staff • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executive management • Exhibit sound and accurate business judgment • Be a team player supporting your co-workers Job Types: Part-time, Contract or Regular 3 days a week Salary: $70K-$80K annual Work Location: Onsite, in person Job Type: Part-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Expected hours: 24 per week Work Location: In person
