ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist on the Apex Fintech Solutions accounting team is responsible for handling invoice processing and vendor account analyst for the firm. This role interacts with several Apex teams, including General Ledger Accounting, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, and Technology.
The ideal candidate must be a critical thinker, analytical, energetic, and possess strong attention to detail. Specifically, this individual is expected to focus on various daily tasks and possess the ability to independently solve problems on behalf of themselves and other team members.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Code and enter vendor invoices to the accounts payable system
- Match invoices with purchase orders
- Ensure all payables have proper approvals according to corporate policy
- Review travel & expense reports for accuracy and corporate policy adherence
- Research vendor inquiries and respond to vendors
- Prepare and analyze payment reports for weekly vendor payments
- Assist with other accounting duties and special projects as needed
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience) required; Associate's degree preferred
- 3+ years of prior work experience in an AP role
- Experience with full cycle AP, month-end close, and account analysis
- Experience using NetSuite accounting system preferred
Required Skills/Abilities
- Intermediate Excel abilities
- Strong analytical ability and perseverance to solve problems with minimal oversight
- Ability to professionally interact with onsite staff and management
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering voucher information
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks within an established timeline
- Must be a team player and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with 2-way and 3-way matching preferred
- Experience in multi-entity and multi-currency preferred
