The Opportunity
InCharge Energy is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable processes and excellent analytical skills. As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the AP function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments to vendors, resolving discrepancies, effectively communicating, maintaining vendor relationships, and contributing to overall efficiency of our finance operations. The ideal Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will have strong previous AP experience, knowledge of accounting principles, strong data entry skills, and the ability to work independently and take initiative.ย We are looking for you to hit the ground running and be able to be autonomous while asking questions.ย Excel and problem-solving skills as well as ERP Integration experience are highly valued.
What Youโll Do
- Manage the end-to-end AP process, including the receipt, review, and processing of invoices
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in invoice documentation and coding
- Compare Bills to POs to verify quantity and price while questioning variances
- Resolve discrepancies and issues related to invoices promptly
- Process customer checks and electronic payments, make bank deposits
- Review and enter bank activity daily and reconcile monthly
- Review, code and sync credit card activity weekly and reconcile monthly
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and discrepancies in a timely manner
- Collaborate with vendors to streamline processes and improve communication
- Execute timely and accurate payment runs
- Reconcile AP transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the AP function
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payment processes
- Handle staff expense reimbursements and reporting
- Assist with Certificate of Insurance, Credit Applications, Vendor/Supplier documents
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations
- Maintain financial controls and guidelines and maintain confidential information
- Support CFO and Controller with ad-hoc tasks and projects, some administrative tasks
- Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure seamless integration with other financial processes
Your Experience and Capabilities
- Bachelorโs Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience (3+ years) as an AP Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounts AP processes and best practices
- Experience with QuickBooks Online โ Integration and other ERP experience a plus
- Great Excel toolset โ Formulas (Xlookup, etc.) and Pivot Tables
- Excellent Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, team player
- Capacity to work autonomously and in an unstructured environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and a task-oriented mindset
- Extremely well organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
US Hourly Range
$28โ$32 USD
