We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Intelligence and Analytics team within the Strategic Finance & Operations organization. You will play a crucial role in managing data retrieval reporting and analysis by communicating between business stakeholders and the IT department to ensure business data requirements are met, building and managing Power BI dashboards, and transforming data into insights that can help to improve the value of the business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations on how to improve business performance. We are looking for someone with a strong analytical mind and well developed technical skills who can approach problems in a structured manner. You will get exposure to many facets of the business and be focused on some of our highest-priority initiatives. This role will report to the Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics at Boomi.
What you’ll do:
- Requirements Gathering & Project Management:Â Work with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements for data analysis and reporting projects and develop and manage project plans to achieve them and communicate progress and findings to stakeholders.Â
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather and analyze data from various sources (internal systems, external data, market research) to identify trends, patterns, and insights and create reports and dashboards to visualize data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Business Process Improvement & Optimization:Â Develop and implement data models to represent business processes and facilitate analysis and identify and analyze business processes for inefficiencies and improvement opportunities and track and measure the impact of process improvements on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- System Integration & Maintenance:Â Troubleshoot issues with standard reports and collaborate closely with stakeholders on reporting difficulties and act as a key partner with IT on timing and rules for data prep, cleansing, and loading into data tables and reporting tools to meet business needs.
- Communication & Collaboration:Â Present data analysis findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner and write technical and non-technical reports and documentation. Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and other departments to gather feedback and encourage best practices and knowledge sharing.
The experience you bring:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in BI or similar role, supporting multiple areasÂ
- Strong proficiency in and experience using SQL for querying databases
- Strong proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI or similar)
- Strong experience in analytics, requirements gathering, solution design, and communicating & presenting findings across functional lines of business
- Excellent cross-functional project management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to create project plans, track progress, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a geographically-dispersed remote work organization
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with high-growth companies in the B2B Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) industries and their business metrics and KPIs
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce and CPQ
- Scripting skills (e.g. Python, R) and familiarity with statistical methods for advanced analysis
CompensationÂ
Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Base compensation for this position in our Vancouver hub ranges from 133,510 - 200,265 CAD annually + applicable bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.Â
