Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, well rounded, AI Software Engineer to join our AI innovation lab team. The ideal candidate will lead AI experiments and bring cutting-edge GenAI solutions from ideation to production. 

Avaloq’s AI Lab mission is to enhance operational efficiency and provide personalized wealth management solutions by responsibly leveraging GenAI tech. The team develops solutions for banking industry, catering to diverse users such as banking operations, software engineers, knowledge services teams and client advisors.

Your key tasks 

• Lead AI experiments and develop solutions from ideation to production
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement AI solutions 
• Deploy and maintain AI models in production environments
• Optimize solutions for performance and scalability
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI tech and related regulations

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 
• Strong background in data science, statistics and experimental thinking
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles 
• Effective communication and collaboration skills 
• At least 5 years of experience in Full-Stack Software Development 
• At least 1 year of experience in developing Generative AI applications and fine-tuning LLMs 
• Proven track record of deploying and maintaining AI models in production 
• Machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
• Excellent analytical, coding, and debugging skills in Python
• Cloud AI services e.g. AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock), Azure (AI Studio), GCP (Vertex AI)
• Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) e.g. Weaviate
• MLOps and workflow platforms e.g. MLFlow 
• Optimization and compute distribution for training and inference e.g. NVIDIA NIM, CUDA, DeepSpeed, Ray etc. 
• Microservices and REST APIs 

It would be a real bonus if you have 

• Experience as a tech-lead with hands-on attitude
• Contributions to open-source AI projects
• Experience in developing core banking systems and/or wealth management solutions 
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and container orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes) 
• Knowledge of the latest advancements in AI ethics and responsible AI practices 
• TypeScript, Angular 
• Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin
