POSITION OVERVIEW
Global Atlantic Financial Company is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Analyst, Cyber Threat and Vulnerability. Responsibilities include:
- Senior Analyst, Cyber Threat and Vulnerability within the Cyber Threat & Vulnerability team, Brighton, MA.
- Manage and monitor the endpoint, network, email, and system security monitoring solutions by triaging security alerts to determine potential impact and urgency.
- Monitor suspicious events, escalate confirmed threats, and assist with incident response for company systems and platforms.
- Manage and monitor vulnerability detection solution to ensure emerging vulnerabilities are patched and mitigated in a timely manner.
- Monitor open-source threat intelligence alerts to proactively prepare and respond to emerging threats.
- Open incident tickets to track incident analysis, escalations, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Work with various teams and advise others on resolving incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Create and maintain analysis procedures for security monitoring (ex. steps to properly analyze an endpoint protection alert to evaluate false positives versus real threats).
- Remain updated on bleeding-edge security technologies, news, vulnerabilities, and exploits.
- Support and assist other Cyber Threat & Vulnerability team members with their ongoing tasks when necessary to balance workloads.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Network or System Engineering/Administration, Information Assurance and Security or a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in Offensive and/or Defensive Security positions.
- Prior experience must include two (2) years of the following:
- Working with TCP/IP protocol suite, routing, and switching fundamentals to achieve complete understanding of network traffic flows.
- Working with critical network protocols and services, such as DNS, DHCP, and HTTP, to achieve complete understanding of how systems and applications communicate to process, transmit, and store data.
- Applying knowledge of the OSI model and the corresponding layers to adequately investigate security events and discard false positive findings from security monitoring tools.
- Securing Windows and Linux operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory according to security best practice frameworks.
- Working with Cyber Kill Chain and ATT&CK Framework to enhance incident investigations and vulnerability remediation procedures.
- Working with common penetration testing suites and tools found in Linux security distributions (ex. Kali Linux), such as Nmap, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Empire, Impacket, and CrackMapExec, to identify vulnerabilities and perform network forensics activities.
- Coding in high-level scripting or programming languages, such as PowerShell, C#, Python, Ruby, and Java, to create automated processes and increase efficiencies for repetitive actions.
