About the Role:
At The New York Times, we are working towards an exciting subscriber goal for 2025. As such, the growth team is looking for a senior analyst to join our efforts to shape the future of journalism. As part of the Data and Insights Group (DIG), you will join a large community of accomplished analysts who partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and PMO teams across the business. You’ll work with Growth platform teams as a data expert, to help convert readers into subscribers, and retain them. You will use strategic thinking about the backend systems that power Growth and how to implement best in class analytics across our onsite messaging systems. You'll translate this data into goals across the Growth Mission, evaluating areas of opportunity. You will report to the VP, Growth Data.
Responsibilities:
You will support Growth Platform teams which enable onsite messaging and access
You will develop data projects to support the team’s strategy, producing applicable insights
You will write SQL queries to pipeline and analyze big data
You will develop dashboards and monitoring
You will set up and run A/B Tests and provide scope and analysis
You will democratize data and insights through skillful data structuring and use of visualization tools
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience working with data analytics or data science teams to deliver reporting and insights
Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
1+ years of experience in A/B testing
3+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Mode, Tableau, or Lookr
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in Python or R
1+ years of experience in Google BigQuery, AWS, or other big data environments
1+ years of experience in version control (Github, code review)
2+ years of experience presenting (written, visual, and verbal) important insights to team members and partners
