Senior Analyst, Enterprise Risk Management
Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a strategic discipline that supports the achievement of MVP's objectives by addressing the full spectrum of our risks and managing the combined impact of those risks as an interrelated risk portfolio.
The Senior Analyst, Enterprise Risk Management will support the execution of MVP Health Care's ERM framework and have responsibility for risk management activities. This position will report to the Leader, Enterprise Risk Management.
The role includes but is not limited to the following:
- Support in the preparation and execution of MVP's risk assessment process. Work with business unit leaders to conduct risk assessment and utilize financial expertise to help risk owners understand and accurately assess impact of potential risks;
- Collaborate with business leaders to create and maintain risk mitigation plans and key risk indicators;
- Conduct complex financial modelling to assess impact of potential risk events and prospective solvency;
- Develop, update, and maintain risk management reporting;
- Maintain compliance with Federal and State regulation relating to risk management;
- Review and update policies and other documentation necessary to codify and communicate the governance and processes associated with the risk management program;
- Work with business units to back-test risk assessments and quantify risk events;
- Update and maintain risk management training materials for dissemination and presentation to business leaders and co-workers;
- Maintain internal SharePoint site to communicate risk management information;
- Other duties as assigned.
This position can work full-time onsite in an MVP office (Schenectady or Rochester) or as a hybrid position (combination of work from home and in an MVP office). Working remotely from a New York or Vermont based residence may be considered.Minimal travel required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
Minimum Experience:
5+ years' experience in a business environment involving the analysis of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements. Previous Health Insurance experience and/or experience with risk management is preferred. Professional Risk Management certification is a plus.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated problem-solving with a data-driven and detail-oriented approach
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and produce results within deliverable timelines
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to transform analytical output into simple to understand findings and tables
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create complex formulas, link data, and produce insightful graphs and charts.
- Proven ability to analyze, report and provide insight on large sets of data
Preferred Skills:
- Data management and visualization utilizing Power BI
- Knowledge of New York State ORSA requirements
