Senior Analyst, Gross Margin

Job Summary:

Avnet Inc is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst to join the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team. This is a newly created position where the incumbent's responsibilities will be two-fold; to lead the development, analysis and reporting of global gross margin data, and to assist in the administration of the financial planning tool.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Work closely with regional finance teams and IT to develop the global gross margin data source(s) and continually work to improve data sources.
• Develop methodology to analyze and interpret the data, draw conclusions on margin trends on a global scale.
• Develop standard reports to give a consistent message across all regions to be used by Executive Leadership team. Produce adhoc analysis on gross margin data, as needed.
• Assist with the administration of the OneStream financial reporting tool by gaining an understanding of the dimensionality of the system. Assisting with report writing and general end-user questions.

Job Level Specifications:

• Thorough knowledge of gross margin analytics and the factors that impact gross margin.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills that build trust and instill confidence to motivate and influence others.
• Knowledge of business mathematics, including the ability to calculate percentage changes, averages, and weighted averages.
• Expert in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau).
• Comfortable with large complex and diverse data sets.
• Experience in similar industry is a plus.

Work Experience:

• Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
