Senior Analyst, PRT Reinsurance Accounting & Administration

Summary

 The Senior Analyst, PRT Reinsurance Accounting & Administration position will actively participate in all Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) Reinsurance Accounting & Administration activities (financial, operational, information technology, data quality, internal control activities, etc.), as well as, contribute to a variety of reinsurance modernization projects.  Individual will actively participate in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of new PRT Reinsurance processes, systems, data and personnel.

Organization

This position reports to the Manager, PRT Reinsurance Accounting and Administration.  The nature of this role is a hands-on / task orientated position and requires working cooperatively with other operations, systems, finance, IT, actuarial and risk management functions normally involved in the processes of reinsurance accounting and administration.  May direct the work of others in the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

PRT Reinsurance Accounting Activities:

• Participate in and / or lead PRT Reinsurance Accounting financial, administration, operations, information technology, data quality, and internal control activities.
• Assist in the development of new processes, people, systems, and data initiatives.
• Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring PRT treaty economics.
• Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring key PRT performance indicators to continuously assess the department’s operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform continuous process enhancement reviews in order to identify, implementation and maintenance reliable, repeatable, sustainable, scalable and streamlined operations.
• Participate in ongoing data quality assessments (data stewardship).
• Coordinate internal, external, and reinsurer audits requests and activities.
• Oversee certain activities performed by outsourced service providers.
• Align department processes with customer needs; become a strategic finance business partner.
• Maintain and / or enhance internal controls and sustain standard operating procedures
• Other projects as assigned

PRT Reinsurance Modernization, Financial Operations Transformation and New Treaty Set-up:

• Participate in modernization and financial operation transformation projects.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and directing reinsurance accounting new treaty implementation processes.
• Perform user acceptance testing for key reinsurance modernization efforts.
• Coordinate modernization activities between a variety of F&G teams (IT, EPMO, etc.).
• Develop and maintain key stroke level desk top procedures.
• Participate in the assessment of potential reinsurance system upgrades.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for Senior Management regarding reinsurance modernization activities.
• Perform special projects as assigned

Experience and Education Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, administration, and information technology.
• Financial systems knowledge and familiarity with databases and complex excel spreadsheets.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Reinsurance, insurance or financial services experienced preferred.
