Senior Analyst, SOX Compliance

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Analyst, SOX Compliance in India.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of IT SOX controls that support financial reporting across a global technology environment. You will evaluate, test, and monitor IT general controls and IT-dependent application controls, directly contributing to audit readiness and regulatory compliance. Working closely with finance, IT, and internal/external audit teams, you will help strengthen governance frameworks and improve control maturity across processes. This position plays a key role in identifying risks, analyzing control gaps, and driving remediation efforts in a fast-paced, international organization. You will also support continuous improvements in documentation, standardization, and compliance efficiency. • Lead end-to-end evaluation, design assessment, and testing of IT general controls and IT-dependent application controls in line with SOX requirements.
• Conduct walkthroughs and control assessments to identify design gaps and strengthen financial reporting processes.
• Execute control testing activities to validate operational effectiveness and ensure audit readiness across business units.
• Analyze control deficiencies to determine root cause, business impact, and risk severity, supporting remediation decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, and audit to align control expectations and drive accountability.
• Track and manage remediation actions to ensure timely resolution and sustained improvements in control environments.
• Improve SOX documentation quality, standardization, and risk coverage across IT processes.
• Support external audit coordination by providing documentation, insights, and timely responses to audit requests.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in IT SOX compliance, ITGC testing, or internal audit in a structured audit environment.
• Strong understanding of IT control frameworks, including access management, change management, and IT operations controls.
• Experience evaluating IT-dependent application controls in financial reporting environments.
• Solid knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, control design principles, and gap analysis techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical and control-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Nice to have: experience with external auditors or Big Four firms.
• Nice to have: exposure to ERP systems and secure development lifecycle concepts.
• Nice to have: certifications such as CISA, CPA, or equivalent.
