Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance
Job Description
At Flatiron Health, the Strategic Finance team is responsible for forecasting, reporting, evaluating and explaining the company's financial performance and for partnering with business leaders to help inform and guide key operational and strategic decisions. From the fundamentals of annual financial planning, monthly rolling forecasts and detailed operational review sessions, to detailed analysis, commercial finance decision support and long-term strategic planning, the overarching goal of the team is to improve the transparency and understanding of the underlying economics and financial health of our business and enable informed, effective decision-making.

In this role, you will be responsible for various analytical initiatives that provide insightful recommendations, planning and reporting to take on big picture opportunities and challenges for driving business growth. You will partner closely with leadership in Flatiron's corporate function and G&A teams including Tech, People, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, to understand and evaluate the key drivers of ongoing operations and strategic long-term decisions. Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $88,000.00 - $132,000.00
Preferred Primary Location: NYC Headquarters
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
What You'll Do

You will partner closely with leadership in Flatiron's corporate function and G&A teams including Tech, People, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, to understand and evaluate the key drivers of ongoing operations and strategic long-term decisions. More specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Serving as the primary finance business partner for the corporate function and G&A teams at Flatiron, managing each team's annual planning, monthly forecasting and reporting processes
- Leading critical analysis and quantitative evaluations to assess expense performance, financial efficiency, resource management, and long-term investment decisions
- Scoping, designing, and implementing new scalable processes to transform planning, monitoring, reporting processes for the Strategic Finance team for supporting business growth
- Focusing on the details and understanding the key drivers of financial performance to effectively communicate operational risks and opportunities
- Developing a detailed understanding of how the core systems and processes of Finance work and interrelate
- Contributing to the effective maintenance of existing tools, systems and processes
- Building and maintaining standardized reporting and analysis, using that reporting and supporting data to generate, document and communicate key variances and takeaways to your business partners
- Communicating the businesses vision, strategic and operational priorities, business model and high-level economics with clarity and brevity to stakeholders

- 3-4 years of commercial finance experience
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering and/or similar discipline with an analytical bias
- Strong analytic, financial modeling and reporting skills including hands-on financial experience of building and maintaining reports and financial models
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across functions and levels of management
- Solid understanding of key accounting concepts and standards
- Expert level of competence in the core tools and systems used for effective financial management, including financial reporting, variance analysis and financial modeling
- Proven ability to quickly learn and become an expert in new software tools
- Expert in Excel and/or Google Sheets, experience building complex formulas and manipulating large data sets
- Passionate about healthcare and the fight against cancer

- CFA, MBA or other qualification with an emphasis on Finance
