We are looking to hire a Senior Analyst of B2B Strategy & Execution within the Center of Excellence (COE) division of American Express International Card Services. As part of the COE, the Strategy & Execution team is charged with defining the long-term B2B objectives, setting business priorities, and driving growth for Small, Medium Enterprises (SME) and Large and Global Enterprises by partnering with local market teams. This team works closely centrally and locally with American Express's merchant and network businesses to implement the aforementioned.
This role will centrally own global analytics capabilities around internal and external data insights to establish strategy & prioritization rooted in data rationale. The Senior Analyst will also focus on connecting various central initiatives across both L&G and SME segments to identify synergies. This individual will report to the Director and provide important awareness around internal data insights, market nuances, emerging trends and players.
Key Responsibilities:
- Centrally analyze market data, nuances and metrics to identify growth opportunities and determine drivers generating momentum and key pain points hindering growth to provide strategic direction to the business
- Critically assess prioritization efforts across net-new, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities and lead review sessions with local & regional sales teams in ICS & GMNS to get results for short & medium-long term outcomes
- Work in close partnership with the Data Analytics team to develop innovative, customized and automated business insights solutions in the long term
- Guide in framing compelling buyer & supplier value proposition in each market based on market insights and demonstrate quantitative value to buyers and suppliers
- Manage financial and pipeline data and review of underlying information on a periodic basis, in collaboration with regional & local sales partners
- Develop presentations and points of view summaries to support enhanced decision making, telling a data driven narrative, communicating analysis of factual baseline data and turning data into focused management information
- Help partner with collaborators in Business Development and Client Management in GCS and GMNS at a regional and local level to establish comprehensive plans to accelerate all stages of the sales cycle and increase win rates
Qualifications:
- Proficient in SQL, SAS or Python, Advanced MS Excel essential with confidence in working between multiple data sets
- Strong analytical and numeric skills, excellent attention to detail with strong experience managing, manipulating and analyzing sophisticated data
- Strong financial competence and the ability to understand various levers within the deal framework
- Business writing skills including framing, story telling & distilling sophisticated data down into digestible format
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while being flexible and able to handle constantly evolving scenarios; someone who sees 'ambiguity' as an opportunity rather than a hurdle
- Outstanding professional communication skills - clear, logical, and structured
- Experience in the Payments/B2B space preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
