Summary

An exciting opportunity at KBRA for a support credit analyst to assist lead analysts to manage a diverse portfolio of specialty finance companies both in the US and globally. At this role which could range between an Analyst (with 1 or more year of experience to a Senior Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity for an analyst learn in a dynamic and multi-sector transportation and commercial finance credit analyst by supporting other more senior members of the team with lead responsibility for the portfolios. The current portfolio includes various Commercial Finance firms (including leasing firms) as well as transportation firms including airlines, shipping liners and other firms involved in transportation including their suppliers and manufacturers. This position will be based in our New York office.

About the Job

  • Assist lead analysts in monitoring the performance of assigned issuers and transactions as well as relevant industry developments that affect their sectors.
  • Assist lead analysts in preparing accurate and in-depth, but concise and insightful rating committee memos and reports, including preparing spreadsheets and charts as well as running of models in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and ability to apply KBRA’s methodologies relevant to the sectors under coverage.
  • Complete ad hoc projects for research, and creating charts and presentations for analysts.
  • Assist in the management of operational processes for the team.
  • Knowledge of structured finance is a plus.

About You

  • 2-3+ years of credit risk analysis experience or internships either at a rating agency, a financial institution or an accounting firm.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
  • Motivated, driven and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong academic background with at least a B.A. MBA or equivalent not required but is preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills as the position also requires learning and running of various models for the team.
  • Being a team player as well as having the ability to initiate self-development through engaging in training as well as consistent learning both from internal and external sources.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
