Senior Analytics Engineer

Thnks is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to assist in organizing and managing existing data resources, as well as implementing new technologies to advance our data analysis platform. As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Thnks, you’ll be part of the product team, working closely with the business to build a culture of data driven decision making & processes. Thnks is a small agile company, and as such, this role will be expected to wear a couple different hats in order to collaborate effectively, build the right solutions, and meet the data needs of the business. We are a in-office organization Monday through Thursday with Friday being remote.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and maintain ETL pipelines to support all reporting and business process needs
• Accountability for data quality & governance, including ensuring data accessibility at all times
• Build business intelligence reports & analytical processes to drive insights
• Automate manual processes, and continue to improve & optimize existing processes 
• Cross-collaborate with other stakeholders in the business, as well as clients & vendors
• Self-manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with self-starter attitude

NECESSARY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience in a BI/data engineering role, preferably in a SaaS or technology-focused company. 
• Advanced SQL knowledge, and experience working with relational databases, query optimization, data integrity & governance best practices.
• Experience with modern BI and data visualization tools, and visualization best practices.
• dbt experience preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of data privacy and compliance regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA, is a plus.

NICE TO HAVE

• Python/R or other preferred language for performing statistical analysis
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and tooling
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as EC2, DMS, and S3
• Experience with Salesforce, and performance marketing tools & data
• Experience with business automation tools such as Zapier or Retool
