This role sits at the heart of a fast-scaling, remote-first, open-source driven organization like Grafana Labs.
You will shape the data foundation that powers analytics, insights, and decision-making across global teams.
The position focuses on building and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that supports high-growth business needs.
You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders in GTM, Marketing, Finance, and BizApps to translate business needs into reliable data solutions.
A key part of your impact will be ensuring data is accurate, accessible, well-modeled, and trusted across the organization.
This is a highly collaborative, remote role where communication, ownership, and technical excellence come together to drive meaningful outcomes.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and evolving the core data architecture and analytics infrastructure that enables self-serve insights across the organization. You will ensure data reliability, usability, and scalability while continuously improving tooling and processes.

  • Own and maintain the data stack architecture and pipelines using tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Fivetran.
  • Ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across analytics and business functions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across GTM, Marketing, Finance, Self-Serve, and BizApps to translate business needs into scalable data models.
  • Develop and maintain data testing frameworks, quality checks, and validation logic to ensure trust in data outputs.
  • Define and enforce best practices for documentation, version control, analytics engineering standards, and data governance.
  • Build and improve data processes and workflows, including those leveraging AI-enabled or agentic systems.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for data pipelines, tools, and metrics, enabling self-service analytics across teams.

  • Requirements:

You bring strong experience in analytics engineering and data modeling, with a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making in complex, fast-moving environments. You are comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams and excel at turning business questions into structured data solutions.

    • 3–5 years of experience in data modeling and analytics engineering.
    • Hands-on experience with dbt and modern ELT/ETL workflows.
    • Strong understanding of cloud data environments such as AWS or GCP (preferred).
    • Experience building and maintaining data quality tests, unit tests, and validation logic.
    • Proven ability to partner with diverse stakeholders, from analysts to business users and engineers.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts clearly.
    • Experience supporting data enablement through documentation, training, and data cataloging.
    • Familiarity with observability, monitoring, or APM domains is a plus.
    • Exposure to coding agents or agentic development practices is an advantage.
    • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Comfortable working in a fully remote, global environment with high autonomy.

    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary in Canada: CAD 129,392 – CAD 155,272 (depending on experience and skill level).
      • Equity participation through Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving ownership in the company’s success.
      • 100% remote-first work environment with global collaboration.
      • 30 days of annual leave, including designated shutdown days for rest and disconnection.
      • Strong focus on professional growth, learning, and career development pathways.
      • Inclusive, transparent, and trust-based culture emphasizing autonomy and impact.
      • Opportunity to work on large-scale, open-source-driven infrastructure used globally.
      • Supportive onboarding experience and ongoing cross-functional collaboration.
