This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Android Automotive Developer (AAOS) in Germany.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a greenfield project in the automotive tech space, developing native applications for Android Automotive OS (AAOS). You will build scalable, high-performance features in Kotlin, implement cross-platform UIs with Flutter, and integrate cloud APIs with in-car systems. As part of a small, agile team, you will influence technical architecture and product decisions from day one, shaping the digital in-car experience. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-moving environment, contributing directly to innovative solutions that enhance connected vehicle experiences across Europe.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications for Android Automotive OS (AAOS), ensuring high-quality, scalable code.
  • Implement cross-platform UIs using Flutter and integrate backend/cloud APIs with in-car systems.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define technical architecture, feature design, and development strategy.
  • Optionally work with vehicle data such as telemetry, sensors, and climate control systems to enhance in-car functionality.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and team knowledge sharing to maintain best practices and coding standards.
  • Support the delivery of innovative automotive solutions in a part-time, remote capacity while ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of professional experience with Android Automotive OS (not Android Auto).
    • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android development fundamentals.
    • Solid experience using Flutter for cross-platform UI implementation.
    • Confident in integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
    • Bonus: experience with vehicle data, embedded systems, infotainment, or automotive telemetry.
    • Located in Europe and available for part-time remote engagement, working hours aligned with European time zones.
    • Proactive, detail-oriented, self-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment.
    • Benefits:

      • Opportunity to work on a greenfield automotive tech project, directly shaping core architecture and product decisions.
      • Join a small, high-impact senior team with visibility and influence from day one.
      • Fully remote work with flexibility to manage your schedule part-time.
      • Direct exposure to cutting-edge technologies in connected vehicle applications.
      • Collaborative, fast-moving, and innovative work environment that values creativity and problem-solving.
