Senior Android Engineer
Job Description
Ibotta is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. Used by millions of customers every month, Ibotta is one of the top mobile shopping applications on the App Store and Google Play. As part of the mobile engineering team, you will work with our Android team to build new features and fix bugs while continuing to build out our unit testing framework. We're looking for a self-motivated engineer who has a passion for building high-quality consumer-facing applications. Every engineer has input into our product process and will have a real impact as part of a small, nimble team.Â
This position is located in Denver, Colorado or with the option of full-time remote. Candidates must live in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
What you will be doing:
Work in a mobile-focused team to design and implement features
Have the opportunity to help define new mobile experiences
Collaborate with the Android team on implementing modern mobile technologies
Develop unit tests for Ibotta's Android application
Fix bugs and improve performance
Work closely with engineers across a number of disciplines

What we are looking for:
4-5+ years of experience in software development
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Passion for building mobile applications
Knowledge of Android development environment and experience across relevant technologies including Kotlin and Java
Knowledge of mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
Proficient in source control systems including Git
Knowledge in object-oriented programming design and development
Well-versed in MVP, MVVM or other architecture patterns
Familiarity with tracking tools like DataDog
TDD and unit test experience
Familiarity with Gradle for build and dependency management
Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as Bitrise
Familiarity with the use of sensors such as camera, gyroscopes, and accelerometers
A/B testing experience
Proficient in crash and exception tracking tools like Embrace
Agile development experience

Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO or with the option of full-time remote and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match and equity.Â
Base compensation range: $120,000-160,000. This compensation range is specific only to Colorado and may be adjusted based on actual experience.Â
