Ascend learning is hiring now for a senior level angular developer capable of leading a team including offshore developers with experience using Angular (Version 12.0+) and designing MySQL databases, writing proper MySQL queries and indexes for optimal performance, creating responsive web pages using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery/Ajax.

We are interested in an individual who is a quick learner, is comfortable multi-tasking, enjoys having the flexibility to work on all aspects of product development, and has the ability and desire to see a project through all phases of the SDLC. Self-taught is welcome. This role can be located in one of our Ascend Learning office locations with in person/hybrid model preferred: Gilbert, AZ, Leawood, KS, Burlington, MA, Minneapolis, MN. Remote considered.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Writing clean, maintainable and efficient code
• Knowledge of how to properly write secure object-oriented code
• Building an application from the ground up
• Designing robust, scalable and secure features
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Ensure code quality, organization and automation
• Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Write documentation, environments and procedures

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Information Technology program or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years working with Angular
• Senior level knowledge of Angular version 12.0+
• Laravel/Docker/Kubernetes experience is a plus
• Experience with API's and versioning
• Experience with TDD (Test Driven Development)
• Experience with Agile / SCRUM / Jira
• Proficiency with HTML(5), JavaScript/jQuery, CSS
• Understanding of the syntax of PHP and its nuances
• Strong SQL experience, MySQL preferred
• MongoDB experience a plus
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application and Micro-services
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, especially git

Skills & Abilities

• Good written and oral communications skills the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff
• Encourage and participate in collaborative development process with engineers on multiple sites
• Ability to take ownership and see the task till end with independent research/development skills
