Senior API/SDK Technical Writer - Grafana Division (Remote, US Timezones)

This is a 100% remote role for the US timezones!

Description of Duties

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation for Grafana Labs' developer community and help develop a developer documentation site. You will collaborate with the engineers, product managers, and the Grafana writing team to produce a variety of tailored content to ensure developers can successfully build plugins and contribute to Grafana's open source.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with other senior technical writers, product managers, and internal stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of the development community and the documentation requirements.
• Plan, research, develop, and write high-quality content tailored to those who develop plugins for Grafana and want to contribute to Grafana's open source. 
• Interview developers and engineers to gain knowledge and understanding of the software and tools you write about and the larger systems and context in which it is useful. 
• Identify critical developer journeys and write content to support that journey, such as setting up a development environment, developing a plugin, and a guide for contributing to Grafana.
• Produce content that is useful to a developer audience using a consistent voice and feel to our product documentation.

Requirements

What experience would make someone be successful in this role?

• Experience writing documentation for developers
• Experience working in open source
• Experience working with developer tools, Git and Github.
• Experience working remotely and asynchronously.

You’re an enthusiast for useful developer docs, you’re unafraid of managing multiple projects, and you enjoy working both collaboratively and independently. You have a well-used copy of “The Elements of Style”.
