SENIOR APPLICATION ANALYST

A dedicated resource with clinical training who will provide data support for Atlas and Elastex (Natural Language Processing) to users and operational users researchers. Will be responsible for supporting the various CHDI application workflows (specifically Atlas and Elastex), monitoring for data quality issues, and implementing new features. He/she will oversee the requests for new systems, processes, enhancements, or other data opportunities and suggests alternative sources as appropriate.

The Clinical Analyst analyzes complex clinical problems to be solved with automated systems. This individual prepares detailed requirements specifications and provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that meet user requirements. The Clinical Analyst has responsibilities within each phase of the project life cycle including user meetings, design, specifications, build-up, development, testing, implementation, and go-live. The Clinical Analyst provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree. Three years experience. Formal clinical training in either Pharmacy, Nursing, other medical training and understanding of patient care work-flows.

Desirable background :

a. Application support in healthcare, life sciences and/or clinical research

b. Data and meta-data management in health care systems

c. Data integration and quality control in health care systems

d. Experience in clinical informatics, clinical terminologies (ex. ICD10, LOINC, CPT, NDC, etc.)

Required background:

a. Formal clinical experience

b. Working knowledge of clinical research

Other required skills:

a. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills to communicate and document user interactions and requirements

b. Strong analytical skills to analyze, categorize and translate business/user requirements to functional requirements

c. Excellent presentation skills for demo and user training, writing skills for user documentation

d. Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, establish and enhance business analysis procedures and improve operational efficiency
