SUMMARY
ANSYS, Inc. seeks Senior Application Engineer to work in San Jose, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for providing world-class assistance to customers and channel partners in the usage of ANSYS products, as well as leverage knowledge and relationships to assist in growing our software business in line with the corporate vision and performance expectations.
- Will apply knowledge and experience in the areas of RTL and gate level power analysis and reduction.
- Will understand RTL simulation and synthesis flows including library characterization.
- Apply knowledge of custom circuit analysis, high speed VLSI design, standard cell physical layout, power-grid extraction, timing analysis, noise analysis, and voltage drop effects with various CAD tools to solve problems in complex System-on-Chip (SoC).
- Will assist customers in running design and verification tools.
- Perform engineering application evaluations on complex IC design, ASIC design flow and circuitry, and benchmarks and provide demos and technical presentations to prospective customers.
- Develop utilities to troubleshoot and debug problems utilizing knowledge of the UNIX operating systems and proficiency in scripting using Perl and Tcl.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in a related occupation.
- Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position.
- Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
- Experience with EDA tools on Simulation, Synthesis and Timing;
- Knowledge of basic UNIX operating systems;
- Experience with scripting using Perl or Tcl; and
- Experience with IC/ASIC design flow from RTL to GDS
