Senior Apps Dev Group Manager - SVP

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

The role involves directing and coordinating the delivery of franchise critical applications to host System, Business and Data control metrics. Candidate will be responsible for the technical architecture, strategy and execution of several key initiatives within the application, and involves analysis of massive amount of structured and unstructured data, identification and systemic implementation of key metrics, developing advanced analytics to help support decision-making on data choke points for Citi's businesses globally. In addition, Apps Dev Group Manager will lead transformation of existing application into a GRC (Governance Risk Compliance) type application and partner with other source systems and data warehouses that provide data for control metrics and remediation. Candidate must possess strong understanding of Citi's applications, data types in Citi's current system landscape, enterprise data models, and be able to provide strategic direction on future state. Candidate must possess application development experience in terms of data controls and metrics.

Responsibilities:

• Design, and implement best-in class analytics and controls application
• Enhance technology and automation of data sources as well as identify critical data elements which will provide metrics that measure progress and risk reduction in terms of data quality issues and data choke points
• Lead tech delivery of management reporting and dashboards to drive compliance with global Policy
• Propose analytical tools for identification to enable Citi's Businesses to enhance data quality and enhance Citi's returns
• Champion and lead data transformation efforts for the application
• Develop and coach a high performing team
• Maximizing technology reuse within assigned OCCRT application portfolios
• Manage risks effectively and establish strong controls around business process execution within the technology environment.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of technology management and proven leadership experience
• 10 years of hands-on applications development experience in a complex, multi-vendor, large-scale systems environment.
• Experience in understanding Markets data components, understanding of data flow, data controls such as reconciliation is a must.
• Experience in handling regulatory deliverables is highly desired.
• Ability to forge strong working relationships and enable collaboration amongst all involved stakeholders. Ability to lead and direct a large team of project managers , architects and engineers in a common direction.
• Ability to demonstrate keep acumen as a task master with a deep understanding of SDLC management to deliver a quality product
• Mandatory experience in delivering corporate-wide initiatives in the past. A broad understanding of common business and regulatory drivers, methodologies, processes, products, etc.
• Accomplished communicator with experience in dealing with senior leaders, head of departments and business functions in a large organization.
• Clear understanding of systems, business, data, and technical architecture disciplines
• Strong familiarity with both traditional and agile software development lifecycles with any certifications like CSM, PMP, CSPO is a must
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in managing controls application
• Experience in interaction with auditors , handling regulatory queries in terms of data controls is desirable
• Experience in database: Oracle/SQL Server, Snowflake preferred.
• Banking and Financial Services experience is a must
• Experience managing global technology teams
• Working knowledge of industry practices and compliance standards
• Display highly effective technical communications skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to manage multiple applications and projects
• Application manager experience is a must
• Knowledge on Cross border clearance, vendor outsourcing requirements is a must
• Experience in handling multiple vendor resources is desired
• Must have worked in the development of BI tool platforms
• Prior experience in handling migration and automation projects with short deadlines is desired

Education:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master's degree preferred
• Candidate will supervise a team of Sr. Project managers, Sr. Architects and Sr. Engineers, Data Analysts, ETL developers in multiple locations across the globe. Adequate knowledge and evidence of formal education/trainings in the above areas will be required.
• Opportunity entails development of advanced learning skills in systems, business, data, and technical architecture disciplines and a sharp learning aptitude is a must.

This is a senior Apps Dev Group manager position as part of the ICG Olympus Data Fabric Team. This is a highly visible role which will have senior stakeholder management responsibilities.
