Senior Architect Cloud Data Platforms - Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:
Position Summary
As a senior cloud architect for data platforms, the candidate will work closely with Enterprise Data Cloud Adoption Platform team to strategize, prioritize, design and plan enablement of data science use cases on cloud. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and testing data integration, processing, warehouse/lakes, model development life cycle and analytics use cases on various cloud platforms including Azure, Databricks and GCP.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate emerging technologies, services, and tools provided by cloud vendors to help guide innovation, new capabilities, and create business case for technology solutions
• Develop reference material on architecture, publish design patterns to present both internally and publicly to drive designs for consensus and approval, being able to translate easily from technical to non-technical language
• Collaborate with data platform teams to develop a new state cloud architecture, a platform roadmap to drive cloud/technology discussions and facilitate decision making to translate into roadmap into target design
• Assist with solution assessment, solution design, and permit to operate reviews for architecturally significant data platform implementation initiatives
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of architecting and designing high performing, resilient and scalable data platforms
• Strong expertise in Cloud Architecture, and Data PaaS (solution design and migration patterns)
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure ML, Azure Synapse, Azure HDInsight, GCP etc.
• Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Astronomer, Starburst Trino etc. is nice to have
• Demonstrated knowledge of the latest technology and industry trends in Data domain including but not limited to: Data Integration, Model Lifecycle Management, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Security
• Experience in Data Science and Big Data eco system is a strong plus
• Experienced in Microsoft Visio and Powerpoint to create and review solution designs, architecture modeling artifacts, and diagrams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent relevant experience
