Your department

In the Technology department (R&D), no two days are the same. Our activities are based all over the world and each project is different. These projects improve the business of our external customers within the Airports, Warehousing, and Parcel business. The Technology department is committed to enhancing Vanderlande’s competitive position through state-of-the-art solutions.

Your position

As AI Software engineer you will work on a project in which AI algorithms are used to classify baggage, to improve performance and reliability of Vanderlande’s material handling systems. You will work on development of an equipment module that will accurately measure and classify items in real-time.
Next to that, you will have the chance to explore the latest AI technologies and spotting new opportunities for AI applications in the organization.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Explore and develop AI algorithms.
• Collect and preprocess data.
• Extract relevant features from data.
• Model selection, training and evaluation.
• Inference runtime optimization for real-time deployment.
• Software development and testing (C++ and Python).

Your profile

• You have a relevant Master’s Degree and a great affinity with technology.
• You have acquired at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Proven working experience in a position related to Artificial Intelligence and preferably experience with computer vision techniques.
• You have experience with relevant tools for Software Development (e.g. Git, Python, C++).
• You have experience with popular Machine Learning frameworks and platforms (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch, MS Azure).
• Experience with MLOPs tooling is preferred.
• Your analytical skills are excellent, you can collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make decisions.
