We are looking for a dynamic Business Product Analyst to work on one of our top initiatives, 'GuideMe' which is focused on shifting our sales model to relationship building, meeting the evolving expectations of modern consumers. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new team that will be driving the outcome of a cutting-edge product build.

Responsibilities

  • Owns requirement generation and documentation for assignments ranging from large, strategic capabilities to smaller, more tactical enhancements
  • Support workstream product manager in day to day activities by coordinating and facilitating meetings to conduct analysis and document business processes, workflow and requirements. Solicit business and system requirements using walk-through, document analysis, use case scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Partner with product managers to develop vision and digital strategy for GuideMe suite of digital products and capabilities, and own translation of vision into technical artifacts to drive development by the engineering team
  • Collaborate closely with key business partners across various organizations within New York Life - including digital, user experience, product, technology, analytics, change management, and field training - to ensure the timely delivery of all program milestones and deliverables
  • Translate business requirements from product and business areas into functional requirements, non-functional requirements, data requirements, and reporting requirements, that can be consumed by either a technology vendor, a TPAs or internal technology teams
  • Own the User Acceptance Testing process for all features developed at your direction
  • Support business and technology teams to ensure key deliverables are met in an accurate timely manner
  • Provide ongoing production support to end-users and track items through completion
  • Assist in grooming a backlog of requirements and open production defects with product owners along with providing input into the appropriate prioritization

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' relevant experience, ideally within the areas of insurance (Long-term Care, Individual Disability Income, Life Insurance, etc.), wealth management, or other financial services
  • Excellent analytical skills to examine and evaluate a variety of systems for requirements where documentation is unavailable
  • Ability to clearly communicate with software users/SMEs and development vendors
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills; understanding formulas/calcs. VB/macro experience is a plus.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills for recording issues, and creating requirement documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle including the end-to-end technology delivery process is a plus
  • Passionate about process improvement and proven ability to creatively solve problems
  • Ability to research, make inquiries & follow a line of investigation to solve issues and document results
  • Active and attentive listening skills
  • Ability to function independently with limited direction and deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage through tight timeframes for delivery of work
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field

GuideMe is the digital planning tool that helps our agents bring this approach to life. It's designed to help our agents build rapport and understand a client's situation, better match a solution to a need, and simplify communication of the value of that solution. The end result of GuideMe is a shift from product sales to relationship building in a way that meets the evolving expectations of modern consumers.

The early field results and feedback on GuideMe have been very positive. GuideMe reduces case design work and training needs, keeps appointments on track, and helps build agent confidence by providing guardrails for a conversational appointment flow. The early evidence shows that agents who use GuideMe are more effective as a result.

We have ambitious plans for GuideMe in 2022 and beyond. Our roadmap includes experiences that cater to a wider range of increasingly sophisticated agent practices and client types, as well as cover an expanded number of New York Life products.

Salary range: $90,000-$135,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt
