Job Description

Publicis Sapient- Public Sector team is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience in Python, Snowflake, and ELT tools. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who will be the first line in creating innovative data solutions for our business. You will be responsible for the development, testing, and maintenance of data engineering frameworks and large-scale data processing systems.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
  • Work closely with IT architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders to design and implement data solutions that meet business requirements and goals.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements.
  • Develop and implement data standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity, dependability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement complex database queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
  • Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to data, and make recommendations to upper management on necessary upgrades or new systems.

Qualifications

Primary Skill required: Snowflake and its features, ETL tools, SQL, Data ingestion using Python, Any Public Cloud (AWS/ GCP/Azure), ADF

Must-Haves:

  • Application open to ONLY U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents (GC) **No sponsorship/visa transfers**
  • Must be eligible to obtain U.S. Government Clearance (Public Trust)
  • Applicants must be residing in the US and be legally authorized to work

Local candidates from the Washington DC metro area, Maryland, and Virginia is preferred. Also flexible with other locations within the U.S.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a Data Engineer role.
  • Proficiency in Python for legacy and modern ingestion in using libraries for data engineering like Pandas, SQLalchemy, and Snowpark, is required. Good understanding of Python syntax, data structures, control flow, and error-handling mechanisms.
  • At least one project experience in deploying data ingestion framework using Python.
  • 1-2 years of working exp with Snowflake and its features like snowpipe, snowpark, tasks, procedures, etc.
  • Hands-on exp with ETL tools and processes (SSIS, Informatica, etc).
  • Proficiency in SQL to write complex queries and stored procedures.
  • Exp working with legacy and modern sources and file formats like JSON, CSV, XML, and classified data with PII, PHI, etc
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing and collaborating.
  • Familiarity with at least one public cloud platform AWS, Azure, or GCP, and understanding how Snowflake integrates with these platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have:

  • Cloud certifications
  • Proficiency in Azure Cloud services like Azure Data Factory and DevOps is advantageous.

Annual Pay Range (in USD): $108,000 - $135,000

The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. The actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and the specific skillset required for the work itself.
