Grant Thornton LLP is seeking multiple Senior Associates - Diligence to be responsible for all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Perform in buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, providing carve-outs and similar services to clients, private equity investors, and asset-based lenders. Assist organizations to realize the potential of mergers, acquisitions, divestures as well as various transactions within the capital markets. Perform financial due diligence on key areas of Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Formulate questions and propose basic adjustments based on the identification of key risks and business drivers. Lead analysis on key operational data, net working capital, debt, and debt-like items. Lead initial drafts of reports, including Quality of Earnings reports, for clients that highlight the key financial findings of potential investments as well as the drivers behind sustainable profits and cash flows. Create and design tailored transaction advisory reports specific to key issues such as normalized earnings, valuation model input assumptions, achievability of management's budget, indebtedness considerations, borrowing base calculations, and/or business combinations and carve-out financial statements. Team with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development calls. 25% travel to various unanticipated client sites across the U.S. May work remotely.
Job Requirements:
Employer requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, or related field, and 1 year of relevant experience such as an Assurance Intern, Bookkeeper, or Consumer or Investment Management Intern, or alternate acceptable related occupation. Work or academic experience must have included: Certification in Credit Risk Essentials; US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, transaction advisory services, or mergers and acquisitions; performing accounting, audit, or transaction advisory services for cross-industry clients at a national level; financial modeling including discounted cash flow (DCF) valuation and leveraged buyout (LBO) models used for M&A transactions; advanced data analysis tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Access, and other platforms to assess the financial performance and financial position of companies in a wide variety of industries; navigating through voluminous and complex operating data to deliver dynamic and real time observations, insights, and risk areas, and utilizing Quickbooks Online and Quickbooks Desktop software to create reports, extract general ledger data, and track individual transactions of a business.
