Job Summary:

Crooked Media’s Vote Save America (VSA) team is looking for a Senior Associate, Email & Web who will primarily implement growth strategies for VSA’s large email program. This person will also help project manage the re-launch, and daily maintenance, of VSA’s website. This role is perfect for you if you know everything there is to know about email and the web, and you’re excited at the idea of building community so that VSA can accomplish our goals - get more people out in the world making progressive change. 

Crooked is moving toward a hybrid work model for our entire staff.  Ideally we are looking for Washington, D.C. based candidates, or candidates willing to relocate within the first 3 months of accepting an offer. In addition, Crooked requires all employees to provide proof of full vaccination and booster to combat the spread of Covid-19. 

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

Execution 

• Write multiple fundraising, mobilization, and, as applicable, rapid response, emails each week and oversee VSA program deliverability, including ensuring we maintain pristine placement across all inbox providers, and QC processes. 
• Assist with the execution of automation, segmentation, and optimization programs.
• Assist the Director of Digital Political Campaigns with the re-launch of VSA’s trademark website, including developing wireframes, drafting site copy, helping maintain vendor relationships and internal relationships with Crooked’s Design Team. 
• Identify web support needs and subsequent content development; write and update votesaveamerica.com content as needed.
• Report on content that's driving engagement and make suggestions for how to maximize audience growth. 

Development 

• Develop best practices and tone of voice tailored to VSA email and be able to translate to other teams.
• In addition to maintaining VSA’s robust email program, develop expanded auxiliary email programs to at least 8 target states and relevant key audiences. This will include original list building, original content development, list maintenance, and multiple emails per state, per week. 
• Work with the Director of Digital Political Campaigns and the larger Political Team to understand Vote Save America’s audience and best practices to engage them.
• In coordination with the Director of Political Campaigns, develop strategic, statistic-driven campaigns to increase VSA’s overall email audience. 
• Other duties as they arise. 

What You’ll Bring To The Table:

• 1-2 years of email writing and fundraising experience on a campaign, committee, or mission-oriented organization.
• Excellent technical skills and deep understanding of email deliverability and the web.
• Knowledge of how to fix even the weirdest code errors or address some of the most niche deliverability concerns.
• Strong understanding of email fundraising best practices.
• Must be extremely organized with a passion for process, procedures and structure.
• Familiarity with online organizing platforms and/or website CMS, CRM, and/or mass email systems (e.g. Klaviyo, Action Network, ActionKit, EveryAction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A working knowledge of current and relevant trending content and breaking news best practices. 
• Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to tackle matters beyond areas of expertise.

When we open up a position, we conduct a market analysis to ensure we have the most up-to-date data. Once we’re ready to extend an offer, we look at the individual’s years of relevant experience and other compensable factors to determine a competitive offer. And for this role, the starting salary range is $65,000-73,000.
