Senior Associate Medical/Technical Copywriter

About You

Nutrafol is seeking a Medical Copywriter who is passionate about making science and biology easy to understand. The ideal candidate knows how to effortlessly harness the results-driven benefits of complex ingredients and formulas, helping to turn science into easily digestible and enticing consumer-facing information. Knowledgeable in citations, references, and sifting through data, this person will be able to move comfortably between long-form writing, scientific studies, and short, quippy copy. Reporting to our Copy Director, this role sits on the Creative Team under our Marketing department. Day-to-day tasks include proofing, cross-checking scientific credentials, and ensuring there is a balance of credibility, authenticity, and elevated writing throughout all creative assets. 

Responsibilities: 

• Develop copy for B2B professionals (healthcare providers and hair stylists) and consumers (patients and salon clients) 
• Execute top-quality copy from concept to delivery, complying with brand standards in execution of marketing materials (scientific manuscripts, slide presentations, posters, publications, surveys, brochures, newsletters, market research reports, educational materials, etc.)
• Proofing all materials from a scientific/medical perspective, including the addition of references & citations as needed
• Writing and editing copy from the lens of a medical professional 
• Manage cross-functional relationships critical to optimal adherence to process for all teams (critical collaborators include: Product Development, Marketing, Professional Marketing, Science & Regulatory Affairs)
• Support medical, clinical, and science writing on ongoing projects to ensure copy is scientifically accurate and sound for external audiences
• Editorial review of documents for grammar, punctuation, and submission-compliant formatting
• Work directly with the affiliates to ensure accurate and timely revisions and updates of required technical information, conducting frequent and thorough quality control checks
• Present work clearly and confidently with high-level executives
• Working in a highly collaborative team department on a daily basis to deliver fast turnaround projects 
• Continuing to shape Nutrafol’s new brand identity in the professional space

Requirements

• 3-5 years professional experience in digital copywriting, multimedia, or other digital communications field
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Public Health, Advertising, Writing, or related field
• 4+ years experience in medical/scientific/technical writing in healthcare or public health related field
• Demonstrated experience writing for healthcare providers and patients/consumers
• Proven excellence in writing ability with strong grammar, editing, and formatting skills
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to the pharmaceutical/cosmetics
• Well-versed in APA Style
• Ability to interpret data along with technical writing, analytical thinking, research and medical communications skills
• Ability to work with copy in documents as well as in final creative stages
• In-depth knowledge and familiarity with the beauty, wellness, and lifestyle space 
• Strong verbal communication, organizational and time management skills, including a strong sense of accountability & professionalism
• Exhibits flexibility and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong ability to incorporate data and research into copywriting
• Proven talent for concepting and creating fresh, unique, and professional copywriting

Preferred:

• Pharmaceutical or medical device experience
• Ability to think creatively and harness creative writing skills (i.e. concepting and creating strong, punch headlines)
