Let's talk about the role
The Senior Associate of Strategy & Business Development will drive ResMed's long-term corporate and business unit strategy development efforts by facilitating the identification of growth drivers and challenges across the enterprise. The Senior Associate will work collaboratively with colleagues across the global strategy team and will have an emphasis on supporting our Sleep & Respiratory Care (SRC) Business Vertical and enterprise strategy topics. The Senior Associate, reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Business Development, will provide strategic thought partnership and project management on a broad range of topics affecting the Company, including analysis in support of new business initiatives (both organic and inorganic) and business-specific initiatives that seek to leverage the scale and depth of ResMed. It is essential that this person establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization, be viewed as a team player, and can work effectively under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform competitive and market analysis for key strategic and M&A diligence projects and draw insights and implications for the company. Present findings and recommendations as appropriate
- Identify, define, and articulate industry, market, and emerging trends and how they may affect ResMed's businesses
- Size addressable market opportunity and growth potential
- Evaluate white space opportunities for possible expansion
- Conduct rigorous financial analysis to assess and model business performance. Examples of analyses include:
- P&L scenario modeling incorporating market dynamics and internal initiatives
- Total shareholder return benchmarking and projections
- Help manage specific strategy initiatives across the company, particularly with the Sleep & Respiratory Care (SRC) Business Vertical
- Support strategy development across ResMed by working collaboratively with SRC and global strategy colleagues
- Provide objective analysis and decision support on 'special projects' as necessary
- Act as liaison for relevant strategic initiatives, and help develop and track implementation plans to ensure the right level of focus and discipline
- Work on special projects to evolve and enhance the Corporate Strategy function and processes
Other exciting project work:
This role offers the opportunity to participate in other exciting projects areas, including:
- Assisting the Partnerships team - from identification to negotiation and ongoing evaluation
- Assisting Corporate Business Development - helping to structure deals including minority investments, partnerships, joint ventures, etc.
- Potential to assist on special projects supporting other Business Verticals as needed
Let's talk about you
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience, including broad-based experience in FP&A, strategy consulting, corporate strategy and market/financial analysis
- Excellent critical thinking, project management, analytical, communication, presentation skills
- Not afraid to 'roll your sleeves up' and work with details as well as the big picture
- High level of intellectual curiosity combined with a 'results-driven' mindset and high EQ
- Highly self-motivated with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives
- Relevant healthcare and digital health industry experience preferred
