Senior Attorney/ Counsel

Your Role and Responsibilities

1) Employees with professional legal training and experience (minimum 8-12 years PQE). Taiwan legal training background and Chinese language proficiency are required in addition to international and English language legal experience.
2) Provide advice and lead on legal matters and business ethics and lead the team to navigate different challenges. Though the emphasis may differ from location to location issues arise in areas of contracts data privacy and cyber regulation antitrust administrative commercial communications criminal employment environmental general corporate government contracts labor mergers and acquisitions real estate securities the conduct and direction of litigation law.
3) Support and negotiate transactions in Taiwan (and possibly other jurisdictions in China and Asia) in particular IT services and Consulting Hardware and Software directly with clients and channel sales with business partners.
4) Support and negotiate complex technology transactions with elements of regulatory compliance business objective achievement and risk/liability/IP contractual protection.
5) Provide advice and legal guidance for Taiwan data privacy and cyber security related laws and regulations.
6) Support the JV M&A and compliance-related matters for Taiwan. Advise on all types of substantive commercial matters
7) Support the HR and employment related legal matters as well as litigation.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• At least 8 years work experiences in legal matters
• Demonstrated personal leadership and thoughtful sensitivity in issues resolution and confrontation management
• Enjoy working in extensive legal areas embracing different challenges; and willing to work across borders and collaborate with various teams and geographies
• Excellent communication skills both in English and Chinese
• Lawyer qualification is preferred.
• Candidate must be comfortable handling a high volume of form agreements and cross-boarder matters with a demonstrated ability to balance and manage multiple client deadlines effectively.
