Senior Automation Engineer, Ignition

Job Description

Summary

You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Ignition systems within our bio tech projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and control systems, and a proven track record of successfully implementing, modifying and maintaining Ignition solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of Ignition systems into our projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy Ignition SCADA systems tailored to meet project requirements
• Create user interface screens in both Perspective and Vision
• Configure alarming in Ignition
• Tag creation in the Designer (Connected Devices window, Tag Browser)
• Connect to various data sources and/or equipment (via OPC, MQTT, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project specifications and incorporate Ignition solutions into overall system architecture
• Write, test, and debug ignition code to ensure optimal system performance using GMP
• Implement and integrate Ignition systems into larger control systems
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical team members
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Ignition system designs, implementations, and troubleshooting procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Ignition Core and/or Gold Certification
• Proven experience in designing and developing HMI, MES, and SCADA systems built around the Ignition platform
• Experience in implementing network architecture for an Ignition SCADA system
• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to ignition systems (e.g., Python, Java)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with GMP in the pharmaceutical industry is a preferred
