Senior Automation Test Engineer (.Net)

This is a remote permanent position for those based in Canada.

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer who can help our enterprise clients translate their requirements into functional and appealing interactive applications. You will be responsible for developing and executing automated test suites and when required conducting manual testing to ensure product quality. The ideal candidate will be outcome driven and have a drive to deliver the best quality output for our clients within specific timeframes.

The role

As a Test Engineer at NearForm you will play an important role in the development process. Our ideal candidate will be working within our Development Teams to ensure that testing is considered at all levels of development.  They should be brought into conversations early at a backlog refinement level to ensure that there is a clear understanding of testing throughout the development process.

Essential skills

• Exceptional communication skills in English with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with .Net 5+ and general modern development practices

• Experience working with Selenium Webdriver and NUnit/XUnit

• Experience with Page Component Object Model

• Experience in integrating automated tests/test processes into CI pipelines working with AzureDevOps

• Strong understanding of Azure Platform and its tools

• Experience of Backend and API testing

• Experience working with cross-functional teams developing tests with a focus on delivering quality agile products.

• Experience working with third-party test runners such as BrowserStack SauceLabs

• Experience with modern software development practices (SOLID Smart Testing Design patterns)

• Solid understanding of how to translate product requirements into testable technical solutions.

• Experience and/or interest in collaborating with client teams

• Experience in building and improving automated test frameworks.

• Experience in influencing change in the test process within an agile team.

Recruitment/Application process

• A TalentCall with someone from the Talent team (30 mins approx.) to introduce to you NearForm and the role and to make sure your experience is relevant for the position and to discuss life as a NearFormer

• An assessment with a member of the hiring team (1 hr approx.) this session is carried out using a screen share. You will be given a challenge and asked to provide a working solution to a specified problem.

• A video call with one of our Hiring Managers (45 mins approx.) which allows us to gain a better insight into what interests you your technical background and give you an overview of the work we do at NearForm.

There may also be an additional interview with the client depending on the project. We also conduct background checks for anyone who joins NearForm.
