Senior AWS Engineer
Job Description
Position Summary:
Sparksoft is seeking a Cloud Engineer to be part of our DevOps team supporting a multi-year CMS contract. The Cloud Engineer will work under the supervision of the DevOps Manager, and he will be a key member of Operations team working in Agile Safe and DevSecOps culture.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure stability and reliability of operations in cloud by monitoring and automating the AWS infrastructure for the application.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise, direction, and technical oversight in the implementation and maintenance of AWS services.
- Design, develop, implement, and configure cloud environments and tools.
- Ensure the stability and reliability of operations in cloud.
- Implement AWS services to improve security posture.
- Provide recommendations on instance types and load balancing options.
- Manage AWS resources and native cloud services and products.
- Provide EAOS with production ready AWS experience.
- Configuration and Automation of broad range of AWS services
- Development and enhancement of CloudFormations and Terraform scripts for the AWS infrastructure.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Experience with core AWS platforms architecture, including areas such as: Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Subnet, segmentation strategies and strong experience with EC2s, ELBs, and SGs will benefit the EAOS Infrastructure.
- Hands-on AWS implementation experience across a broad range of AWS services.
- Experience in monitoring the operations and security of EC2, container and AWS services.
- Familiarity with executing Stacks, StackSets, CloudFormation scripts, etc.; Familiarity with network connectivity, AWS Direct Connect and AWS Site-to-Site VPNs.
- Familiarity with encryption specifically AWS KMS.
- Familiarity with logging with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.
- Ability to execute implementation plans in the AWS environment for a variety of initiatives ranging from load-balanced EC2 scaling groups to Lambda functions.
- Ability to manage AWS resources and native cloud services and products.
- Maintain the continuity of operations with 100% up time.
- Experience working within a Continuous Integration environment using Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, Bit Bucket versioning systems.
- Self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to take charge or play a supporting role.
- Clear written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to Monitor and manage system resources and application performance.
- Has experience in leading a development team and mentoring junior developers.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.
Desired:
- Experience with Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services implementations and environments
- Experience supporting Contact Center operations
- Experience integrating AWS connect with backend CRM systems
- Experience with IVR self service
Required:
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.
Education:
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or comparable field
- 8+ years of experience
- Certs: AWS Cloud Certification
