Senior Azure Architect - Princeton, NJ

We are searching for a Senior Azure Architect with experience in DevOps who will assess the current application hosted on premises and create a migration plan to Azure while also implementing the solution.

This engagement is for a custom solutions team where the primary knowledge space is software development (specifically Java and JavaScript), but there is no expectation to write code outside of Infrastructure as Code (i.e. Bicep, Terraform, etc…). This person must have a thorough understanding of the software development space.
This is a long-term contract opportunity based in Princeton, New Jersey. This team is highly collaborative and and meets in the office 3 days per week which allows for a hybrid schedule while working closely with a phenomenal team of engineers. 

Duties:

• Review a complete catalog of existing applications, application deployments, system integrations, and automated build pipelines.
• Create a detailed plan for Azure landing zones to support all existing applications and to support future development efforts.
• Identify opportunities to take advantage of cloud infrastructure and capabilities.
• Create a detailed plan for the future state of each application, including considerations for:
• Security
• Cost
• Operations/Maintenance (upgrades)
• Monitoring
• Resilience
• A migration plan for transitioning the application from its current state to the future state.
• A detailed plan for migrating build automation (DevOps) to Azure DevOps.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years experience in the following:
  • Infrastructure architecture to deliver the landing zones (initial cloud infrastructure)
  • DevOps engineering 
  • Cloud Architecture/Cloud Development
• Experience working in an Agile environment with cross functional team members and teams would be ideal for this role.
