We are seeking a skilled back-end developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Backend Developer you will contribute to the design and development of Dataview component part of watsonx.ai. Dataview is a component that helps to explore data from different perspectives with visualizations to identify patterns connections and relationships within that data and quickly understand large amounts of information.
In the team you would be involved in designing developing and discussing product delivery & strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Designing coding unit-testing and performing FVT for new functions while rigorously adhering to the team’s development processes
• Working in close collaboration with the development and QA teams to ensure that defects found in are fixed in a timely manner. You are
• ultimately responsible for ensuring that our code is delivered on schedule and with quality
• Analysing and fixing defects reported by customers and our QA team
• Ensuring that any shipped code is delivered on schedule and with quality

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Solid experience in software programming role
• Java programming
• Any additional modern programming language like Scala
• Microservices architecture and design
• Source control management preferably Git/Github

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience in Java development and application servers like WebSphere Liberty; container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins Travis or Tekton & automating infrastructure testing and deployments
• Experience with Cloud Platforms i.e. IBM Cloud AWS Azure
