Senior Backend Developer (Denver)

PayZen is a fast-growing company which is establishing its development team in Denver, Colorado, and looking for an experienced Senior Backend developer to produce scalable FinTech software solutions. As a Senior Backend developer, it is hard to overstate the impact you’ll have on our product and company trajectory.

What you will do

• Collaborate with product managers and other software engineers to build groundbreaking user-centric products that change peoples lives
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Implement new features and user interfaces, keeping mobile-first always on top of your mind
• Help the team succeed as a whole
• Have a chance to influence the architecture and design of the product
• Take part in architectural decisions and discussions
• Solve complex problems, create object models, define APIs, build web services, and more
• Work directly with others (engineers and other internal stakeholders) to develop a solid understanding of the business application and requirements for which the application is being designed

What you bring

• 4+ years of demonstrated experience in JavaScript technologies.
• At least 3 years of experience in Node.JS.
• Thorough understanding of user experience and product strategy
• Experience implementing testing platforms and unit tests
• Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Appreciation for clean and well-documented code
• You have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken, and are a natural communicator
• Experience working remotely - nice to have
