Senior Backend Developer (Python)

Gorilla Logic is looking for a Senior Backend Developer with exceptional web services and other backend development skills to work as a member of an Agile team responsible for building and maintaining our client’s web and/or mobile applications. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm, and determination.

Responsibilities

*Work with an agile team to build, maintain and optimize our client’s applications

*Mentor fellow developers

*Work with DevOps and QA to build a quality focused CI/CD pipeline

*Responsible for code reviews, testing, and delivery of high-quality maintainable code

*Work in an Agile environment to define, estimate and work user stories

*Proficient English and communications skills required

*Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Technical Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

*5+ years of backend development experience with Python

*3+ years of experience using a modern Python frameworks like Django or Flask

*Experience with modern enterprise patterns like microservices

*Experience with API development and integration

*Development experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

*Demonstrated experience building and maintaining a production application

Bonus Skills

*Experience with Snowflake

*Development experience with a modern framework like Angular, React and/or Vue

*Experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries

*Cloud development experience with AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud

*Familiarity with modern architectural modalities like serverless, JAMstack, event-based, pub/sub, and data streaming

*Container experience with Docker/Kubernetes
